Supported Structures
Supported Structures is a sculptural project built around ideas of balance, support, and material instability in relation to home. Drawing on Alexander Calder’s stabiles, it brings together bread, pastries, and flowers in compositions that appear carefully constructed yet inherently temporary.
Bread functions both as a structural element and as a familiar object associated with nourishment, hospitality, and care. Its softness, fragility, and perishability complicate the apparent stability of the forms, introducing a sense of vulnerability, dependence, and loss.
Within these precarious arrangements, support becomes both a physical and an emotional condition. Home is presented as something sustained through gestures of care, comfort, safety, trust, and belonging.
