At the core of the installation are flowers. Their forms are altered, distorted, and combined into hybrids that inhabit a world born from change. To survive there, they adapt, reshape themselves, and begin new lives.

The artist sees flowers as sensitive signals that respond to external influences and appear at thresholds, between what no longer works and what is not yet known. The hybrids bring together flowers remembered from childhood and those that now surround her in Cyprus.

Each one becomes a response to an internal event: loss, adaptation, forgetting, and the necessity of rebuilding oneself in unfamiliar conditions. The project resonates with the wider reality of forced migration, displacement, and rupture, when familiar landscapes, languages, homes, and ways of being must be left behind.

These transformations are not presented as destruction. Adaptation becomes a process through which a fragile, hybrid, and unexpected form of beauty can emerge — one that carries traces of loss and memory while opening towards renewal
